I think there is a good chance these two are brothers in this 1/6 plate tintype. They are standing for their photograph on a wooden floor with a stark white
backdrop which really makes this image pop. They're wearing shell jackets with the early war issued brass shoulder scales. Both troopers wear a leather rig for
their 1860 light cavalry sabers and a waist belt with a rectangular eagle belt plate. The trooper on the right has drawn his saber for the photo, while the other
guy keeps his sheathed. Both are wearing riding boots, but the trooper on the right appears to also be wearing his spurs as I can see a strap across the arch of his
boot. They both also sport a cap box and a holster on their waist belts. The image is bright, but has some emulsion spotting as seen in the scan. The image comes in
