Perfectly focused 1/6 plate tintype of a Yankee posed wearing a 4 button sack coat with a beautifully tinted great coat over it. I've
been told that the difference between the Confederate great coat and the Union great coat are the clasps on the collar. This image is a great
illustration of those two eye clasps on the collar of the Union great coat. The focus in the face is nearly perfect. Notice the "D" on the visor
of the kepi. Initially, I thought it was a refection of a brass letter on the face of his kepi, but upon close examination it appears that the D is
actually painted on the bill of the kepi. It looks to me like the artist who was tinting the great coat might have spilled a few drops of blue die near
his left hand. This comes in nearly perfect wood and paper full case with its original binding. #3400=$535.00
