Naptha W. Kinyon enlisted at the age of 24 on 5/23/1861 at New York City, NY. He was mustered into Company D, 62nd NY Infantry.
By the time he was promoted to corporal, his regiment had fought at Williamsburg, VA; Fair Oaks, VA; Seven Pines, VA; Malvern
Hill, VA; Savage's Station, VA; Fredericksburg, VA; Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. They would ultimately also fight at The
Wilderness; Spotsylvania Court House; Cold Harbor; Petersburg and Cedar Creek, VA just to mention a few. This image has a crease
diagonally across the middle. The look on this soldier's face says a lot. I wonder if he knew how much fighting there still
