Take a close look at the canton of the American flag on the table. The star pattern is very unusual. As you might
know, there was not official or prescribed pattern for the stars on the American flag until the early 20th century.
As a result, there are a wide variety of designs out there. This is one of them. This 1/6 plate tintype features a
soldier wearing a 4 button sack coat, military vest, non-regulation hat and blue tinted trousers. He rests his arm on
a table that is draped by the flag. This image, at one time, had an oval mat on it as can be seen in the scan. There is
not mat now, only a preserver under glass with a 1/2 case. The mat has been removed to allow the
wonderful flag to be seen. #5608=$335.00
