Captain William Franklin Griffin enlisted in the 93rd IL as a sergeant on 10/13/1862 in the 93rd IL Infantry.
While there he fought at Jackson, Champions Hill and Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was discharged for promotion and
was commissioned into the 49th USCT on 6/4/1863 where he served until 3/22/1866. He was from Fulton, IL and was
said to be 5'11" tall. The image is signed and comes with a Vicksburg, MS backmark. In the image Griffin
