This young cavalry trooper wears a shell jacket and is double armed. He has a large revolver tucked under his belt rig and sports
his cavalry saber. His trousers have the double lined inseam to provide better wear while in the saddle. He has his high cavalry
boots with the knee guards turned down. Just off to his left, it appears that the next subject is waiting in line for his photograph.
That might even be a great coat that the unknown other subject is wearing. This CDV has a St. Louis BM. There is a pencil I.D. on the
reverse identifying him as John Hill. There are over 700 John Hills in the database. Narrowing it to a cavalry soldier from a western
