A great nephew of Napoleon I. He was born in Baltimore in 1832 (American mother) and graduated from West Point in 1852. He briefly served
on the Texas frontier, and resigned his commission in 1854 to join the French army as a lieutenant of the dragoons. He served in the Crimean
War and later was a captain in the chasseurs d'Afrique, serving in the Algerian campaign. In this CDV he is wearing the uniform of a captain
of spahis. The jacket was scarlet and the cap and pants were light blue. #JS1074=$150.00
