The uniform with the double row of buttons screams anything but Yankee. Whether he is confederate or not I don't know. The sword looks to be a
Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry Saber. I believe I see a stopped fuller on the saber. With no stopped fuller, I'd lean toward Confederate, but this likely
is a European import. The uniform and kepi are trimmed in red indicating artillery and the soldier has a "PD" on the face of his kepi. The ruby
ambrotype is broken and has been pieced back together with a piece of paper glued to the back to keep them intact. The image comes in a 1/2 case and
there is no I.D. If someone can trace this to a known Confederate unit, they've got a great image! #11507=$350.00
