Private Solon Morrill was from Springfield, NH and enlisted on 9/18/1862 at the age of 18 into the 15th NH Infantry, Company F. He fought nearly
exclusively at Port Hudson, LA where the unit saw nearly daily combat during the summer of 1863. He mustered out on 8/13/1863 after 1 year of heavy
service. This 1/9 ruby ambrotype is cracked horizontally through the kepi and across the chest. It is hard to see unless you're looking for it.
The cover glass is broken at the bottom left hand corner. The image has been nicely resealed to keep it intact. The ambrotype comes in a full case
