This 1/9 plate clear ambrotype feels either Mississippi or Texas to me. He's wearing a wheel hat, a battleshirt and a cloth belt attached to a tongue and wreath plate with a star on a smooth field. I believe the plate is #351 in the book "American Military Belt Plates" by O'Donnell & Campbell. This is listed as a militia plate that was mass produced in 1850's. His shirt has piping down the center button line and on the cuffs. There is no identification. #11608=$800.00
