This 1/6 plate ruby ambrotype gives us an excellent view of the clothing staple of the Union army - the 4-button sack coat. These soldiers appear to be brothers that are getting their image taken upon enlistment. Barley visible are the sergeant stripes on the sleeve of the soldier on the right. There is no identification and the image comes in a nearly perfect thermoplastic case with a great pillow, tight hinges but with a tiny crack on the clasp. This book is published in my book "Military Hard Images Volume 4". #12593=$425.00
