This is a known backdrop used by Anson of New York City. The trooper wears a shell jacket and a Hardee hat with one side pinned up and a feather or plume on the other. The crossed sabers denote cavalry with an "A" denoting his company. Unfortunately, we do not know the regiment. The flag has been haphazardly hung from the base of the ornamental column. He has his "wrist breaker" sword on his hip and a large caliber pistol tucked under his belt. There is an I.D. disc with the initials GWT that came along with the image. The 1/6 plate tintype comes is a full leatherette case. This image is published in my book "Civil War Hard Images; Volume 4 - Union". #13498=$600.00
