This image has been published and is of George I. Fox. Fox joined the 6th MA on 8/31/1862 and died of his wounds on 6/18/1863. He was wounded and captured at Carrsville, VA. There is a series of 27 letters between George and Mary Brockway, presumably his girlfriend. The letter collection is in the possession of The Lowell, MA National Historic Park. This image was taken in Lowell upon his enlistment. Note that he is wearing a British made Snake Buckle. The "6" and Company "C" are clearly visible on the crown of his kepi. #2093=$175.00
