One of the most familiar backdrops from Benton Barracks is referred to as the "Fort on the Hill Backdrop." The backdrop appears in photographs taken by
Canadian-born Ansel Ross butts (1832-1926). This 1/6 plate tintype is published in "Civil War Hard Images Volume - 2" by myself and Chris Anderson. The
