This 1/6 plate clear ambrotype features a soldier in a grey uniform. I can't be sure, but I suspect he is early Illinois. He wears a dark kepi and has his eagle breast belt (and plate) and US
waist belt (and plate); both gilded. He has his cap box and bayonet visible. The photo is taken with a cloth backdrop and in a room with a wooden floor and there is trash or rags in several places
on the floor. There is writing with three initials on the backing of the image, but I can't make anything out. #9625=$395.00
