The trooper in this 1/6 plate tintype is seated in the studio for what may be his first picture ever. He wears a cavalry shell
jacket with the brass shoulder scales, a cross belt for his cavalry saber rig and a waist belt with the rectangular eagle plate. The
image is so well focused that you can see the eagle imprint on the belt plate when using a loop. This soldier has his kepi's bill
turned up to give a great view of his face. His cavalry saber is prominently displayed for the photographer being held in his light
colored gauntlets. The case is Berg's 1-54 Crossed Cannons case. The image displays great in this case, but there is damage to the back
edge just above the clasp. There is no identification with this trooper. #9632=$625.00
