Babcock, Orville E. (1836 - 1884); A native of Vermont, Babcock graduated 3rd in his class from West Point in 1861. He was promoted to brevet brigadier general in
1865 and served as Grant's aide-de-camp. After Grant became President in 1869, Babcock was assigned as Secretary to the President of the United States. Clipped
